Art Design Ideas is an editorial site dedicated to the designers, objects, movements, and makers that have shaped how we see and live. We write about the things worth knowing โ the Barcelona Chair, the Braun shaver, the Alessi kettle โ and the people who made them matter.
The site started as a personal archive. A way to keep track of the designers and ideas that kept coming up in conversation, in museums, in secondhand shops. It grew into something more deliberate: a resource for people who care about design but don’t always have time to dig into the scholarship.
Who We Are
Joe Post is the founder and editor. He holds an MFA in Art from California Institute of the Arts and has done additional graduate work at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He writes about design as cultural argument โ the decisions, contradictions, and assumptions built into the objects we live with.
Zoe Post is an art writer and photographer. She holds a BFA and a Master of Architecture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and works as a product marketing leader at an architectural product design firm. At ADI she covers contemporary artists, textile and pattern design, and the objects that sit at the boundary of art and function.
